Casa Rucollina is an exceptional design holiday home build by Belgian architects, who dreamed of their own hideaway in sunny Sicily. They realized it together with Sicilian craftsmen, using local, traditional and natural materials such as wooden window frames, stone walls, warm color details with a modern twist.
You can reach Casa Rucollina through a long private driveway between olive- and almond trees.

The house is well located on an domain of 19.900m2 in the sunny southeast, with endless views over almond and olive trees, the baroque town of Noto and in the distance the Ionian Sea and has a capacity of 8/10 people and all the modern luxury and comfort.
The house is comfortably furnished and provided with all kinds of indoor and outdoor activities, for young and not-so-young!
Casa Rucollina is situated in an exceptional location. Only a few kilometers away from Noto, with a fantastic offer of restaurants (from pizzerias to fine dining and authentic slow food) and 30 minutes from other splendid baroque cities such as Modica, Siracusa, and Ragusa as well as Marzamemi, an adorable fishing village worth visiting!
The Ionian Sea is a 15-minute drive, as is the beautiful Vendicari nature reserve with gorgeous secluded beaches.
Located less than 40km south of Syracuse, Noto boasts one of Sicily's most beautiful historic centres. The pièce de résistance is Corso Vittorio Emanuele, an elegantly manicured walkway flanked by thrilling baroque palazzi and churches.
Stunning at any time of the day, it is especially fabulous in the early evening when the lovely red-gold buildings seem to glow with a soft inner light.

In 2002 Noto and its churches were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Infiorata di Noto, one of the most colourful festivals anywhere in the world, takes place every year over the third weekend of May. Artists come from around the world to cover Corrado Nicolaci with floral mosaics.
The local area is home to several quality wine producers and very good restaurants with tipical cucina siciliana.

On a hilltop ("collina") overgrown with wild arugula (rocket salad). The several terraces around the house have neverending views over the olive trees, the beautiful baroque Noto and the sparkling blue Ionian sea.

INSIDE ...
The ground floor features a white, polished concrete floor and create, together with the white walls a minimalistic effect, while the natural and robust muro secco brings the Mediterranean atmosphere from the outdoors to the indoors.
The entrance leads to the fully equipped designer kitchen by Boffi. If you prefer a home cooked meal over the numerous restaurants in Noto, you can cook a tasty dish like a real chef! The kitchen island 3 meters long and finished in Carrara marble with stainless steel cabinets. Attached to the island stands a tall, solid wood table. You will be cooking on a large gas range, next to the sink area for optimal contact with the living room and a view of the cathedral in Noto.
Furthermore, there is a dishwasher, a large refrigerator, and XL oven. A coffee maker, juicer, toaster and kettle are also provided, as well as cutlery and dishware for 15 people.
The sitting area with cozy sofa has a relaxing gas fireplace, build into the muro secco.
Bedroom 1 is 24 m² and has a double bed (160 cm), dressing, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The double patio doors give access to the south facing terrace and a beautiful view of the sea. The room has a bathroom en-suite, equipped with sink, shower, bidet and toilet.
Bedroom 2 is 19 m² and has a double bed (160 cm), dressing, air conditioning and ceiling fan. The bathroom with sink, shower and toilet has a special semi-transparent Panama marble wall! And again there are patio doors with access to the south facing terrace.
Bedroom 3 is 14 m² and has two twin beds that you can push together and a desk. Air conditioning is provided for the warm Sicilian nights. This room has an extra high window with a spectacular view of the valley.
Next to this room is the third bathroom with sink, toilet and bathtub/shower.
The "al fresco" living at Casa Rucollina takes place mainly around the sturdy and high muro secco, where an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen and pizza oven are built in. The terrace fully equipped to enjoy cooking, dining, lounging, sunbathing and soaking up the relaxing holiday atmosphere!
On the terrace there are 8 sunbeds, 2 umbrellas, 4 lounge chairs and 4 cabana beach chairs). The evening terrace has a concrete table for 14 people where you can dine under the beautiful starry sky....
On the first floor there is one more bedroom 4, which is 24 m², with a double bed (160 cm), air conditioning and ceiling fan, glass sliding walls to the shower room (sink and shower Carrara marble). This room has a private evening terrace overlooking the magnificent cathedrals of Noto.
On the other side of the room you can also relax on the large rooftop terrace with a 360 ° view and view over the Ionian sea.
In the basement there is an extra sofa bed, suitable for two people. A sink and toilet are provided as well as a washing machine.
The basement also serves as a playroom with football table, comics and various board games.
For fun outdoors there is an integrated trampoline, petanque court and of course the unique pool, which is 4 x 16 m and 1.45 m deep and has a shallow area to linger in the refreshing water.
